One Step Spiritual Dance Show, was held with great success on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Shaolin Wu Gong "Snake - Crane" Sports Club at 69 Calypso Street in Kallithea, under the supervision of the Greek Shaolin Cultural Centre [EPOS]. In an attempt to touch concerns and express opinions through dancing, the masters of the school Sifu Kostas Nikolaos [Hang Feng - 6th Duanwei Upper Level] and Sifu Kosti Olga [Miao Su - 4th Duanwei Middle Level], used dancing as a means to express Kung Fu and Tai Ji, presenting to the public the timelessness of Shaolin culture and its influence on western culture.
OneStep, a Project by Olga Kosti, is a result of a combination between modern dance and traditional Taiji Quan that does not ignore one kind or another, but instead seeks balance through time, contrast, and battle until one is fullfilled!
In this amateur project, the school's students tried a different kind of expression, showing Tai Ji and part of Chinese culture through a dance expression, which aimed to highlight the internal search that we all need in these difficult times.
The performance, included five operations, Time, Levitation, Battle, One, Contrast, where in the course of evolution, all seem random, but with the internal battle comes harmony, the one, and finally balance.
The show, that was free to the public, was followed by a buffet and an exchange of opinions between the attendees on the cultural mixing of these temporal ideas.
