Under the frame of continuous promotion of the internal arts of Shaolin, and upon request of master Mr Ganis Aris, an open presentation of Shaolin Rou Quan [Chin: Shàolín róu quán 少林 柔拳] was performed on 27th of May 2015, in the packed gym of martial and alternative arts Power Center (which comprises a member of the Greek Martial Arts Federation EOPT) at Kordelio Thessaloniki, by master Shi Miao Yuan [Chin.: shìmiàoyuán 释妙原] – Vassilopoulos Ioannis who is an officially recognized martial arts master of EPOS.

The participants had the chance to practice in several kinds of Shaolin Qi Gong , traditional shaolin drills, while they got to know Shaolin Rou Quan, which constitutes the predecessor and traditional form of Tai Ji Quan. They experienced a time relapse, through the history ,the principles and the culture of Shaolin, via its martial virtues (shaolin wu de) and the five skills (shaolin wu gong) that gradually develop in every practitioner of Rou Quan.

Beyond the quotation of many therapeutic applications of Rou Quan, the innumerous publications and the fact that many world medical associations indicate Soft fist sets i.e. Tai Ji Quan; as a complementary exercise, an allegorical mention was made on the effects of such exercise not only on the practitioner but on the immediate environment and daily life in general.

The attendance of people who were interested was remarkable. Not to mention other masters from different martial and alternative arts. Taken this opportunity, the adaptogenic property of Rou Quan was explained, and clarified that without being antagonistic, it augments/empowers any other form of exercise.

It is worth mentioning how enthusiastic some parents were, who did not hesitate at all to practice along with their children, creating such a superb environment of family comfort, as the one of the great Shaolin family.

Utterly satisfied by the presentation, the director of the school Mr Ganis Aris, thanked master Miao Yuan and went forward to reserve several hours of teaching Shaolin Rou Quan and Qi Gong in his center.

By the end of the presentation material was spread about the practice of Shaolin Qi gong and Shaolin Rou Quan, while further general discussion was made concerning the Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization, and the great effort that is made by its directors and members for the rightful transmission of the shaolin arts in Greece.
