The presentation of Shaolin arts at the annual celebration of the Children's Center for Creative Employment (KDAP) of Oneiroupoli, as the first pilot presentation about a year ago aiming at incorporating Shaolin arts into the KDAP program, was completed with great success. This initiative of EPOS was carried out by the head of Northern Greece Division Vasilopoulos Ioannis, who was accompanied by his assistants, Paipati Chrissi and Mavridou Sophia, and made an interactive presentation to children and parents of KDAP about Shaolin arts such as Shaolin Qi Gong [chin.: qĻŽgĻng ÆøđĶ] and Shaolin Rou Quan, the Shaolin Soft Fist [chin: Shàolín róu quán 少林 柔拳] on Saturday afternoon of June 9, 2018.
On the occasion of the completion of the first course in Shaolin arts, Mr. Vassilopoulos, representing EPOS, thanked the KDAP administration and all the children who attended the courses with dedication and handed a special paper edition with the work of EPOS to the person responsible, Mrs. Makri Maria and the manager of KDAP program, Mrs. Fotini Mavridou. Given the opportunity, he made a historical review of how Shaolin Rou Quan was formed and spread to the now known Tai Ji [chin.: tài jí 太极], accompanied by a wealth of scientific studies on how it improves the concentration and behavior of children, and that it is also suggested by the World Health Organization as an alternative adjuvant to many known diseases.
The children of KDAP, fully committed to the seemingly simple but demanding program in the form of narration and fairy tales, presented what they had learned during the year, making parents and staff participate to experience their own calm and revitalization that Shaolin Rou Quan offered.
With the completion of the presentation, there was a debate where parents and children were quick to learn more about these arts, obviously thoughtful by the wrong impression they had on Shaolin in general and committed to more children's consistency in the new year's program.
"The choice to teach children Shaolin Soft Fist was conscious, because we believe there is more need in our days for relaxation and tranquility than the competitive relaxation and exercise offered by ordinary sports. Shaolin Rou Quan and Chi Gong reduce stress, fear and anxiety by offering a better response to school obligations and the challenges of an academic environment, while preserving the elements of self-defense that they contain. "said Mr. Vasilopoulos after the completion of the annual celebration of the KDAP.
"EPOS always proves by actions that it is close to anyone who wishes to know in depth the arts of Shaolin. We are particularly pleased with the progress and interest of KDAP Children in these arts and the proven impact they have on them. In the light of the healthy spread of this rich culture, we all continue with more optimism and hope for the future, since our children are also in the future. Thank you for the trust of the KDAP Oniroupolis committee and we wish the best for the continuation of the success of this upward project ", stated the founder and director of EPOS Mr. Stavridis Iordanis
