On July 16, 2016, at 9 am, the EPOS mission arrived at Shaolin Temple, according to the predetermined official visit, after the official invitation of Shaolin Temple. Mr. Wang Yu Min, received and accompanied the Greek Students and Masters from the main entrance, leading them to the Abbot Hall, where they were warmly welcomed by Abbot Shi Yong Xin [chin .: shìyǒngxìn fāngzhang 释永信 方丈].
After a very warm welcome, Master Shi Yan Zhuo [chin .: shì yán zhuō 释 延 卓] informed his Chinese Master for the progress and the successful course of Shaolin in Greece, while the other members of the mission listened attentively, drinking tea with the other monks. Venerable Abbot, visibly satisfied with the development of Shaolin Culture in Greece, said that Greece has a special place in his heart and that he nourishes great interest in Greek culture.
Then, following the protocol, Master Shi Yan Zhuo, handed to the Venerable Abbot, a copy of the Parthenon, a gift from Greece and an honorary award from the Hellenic Shaolin Cultural Center for his 20-year contribution to the development and dissemination of the Spirit and culture of Shaolin. An honorary board was also handed over to Mr. Wang, for his contribution to the International Bureau of the Shaolin temple. In turn, Abbot gave to all members of the mission a rosary of aromatic sandalwood, books and other souvenirs, stressing that all the Masters and male and female Students of EPOS can consider the Shaolin Temple as their home, and that they are always welcome, and urged them not to forget the values of Shaolin, peace, magnanimity, love and compassion.
Concluding he offered to the Greek Master two books which he has written, the Shaolin Temple of My Heart and the Enlightened Nature.
The EPOS mission was photographed with Master Shi Yong Xin and with the bystanders monks in the Abbot Hall, and then toured the premises of the ancient monastery and departed in late afternoon.
