The Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization completed its cultural activities for this season, with a workshop on school bullying. The workshop was held in the lecture room of the Marathon Street Museum in Marathon on June 29, 2017. EPOS members, friends, male and female students,, together with masters from the collaborating clubs, were warmly welcomed on Thursday afternoon by the museum's manager, Mrs Irene Spanou. Ms. Spanou, with a friendly and pleasant mood, made a short tour of the museum, its history and exhibits, leaving EPOS members with an expression of admiration and pride.

Then, the General Director Mr. Stavridis Iordanis welcomed the official guests and speakers of the workshop, the Criminologist Dr. Svourdakou Despina, Professor of Greek Police School and the President of the Greek Wushu Kung Fu Federation, Mr. Stamoulis Lambros, and led them to the museum's lecture hall.

The workshop began with the brief welcome of the attendees and the presentation of the speakers by Mr. Stavridis, who pointed out that School Bullying is a phenomenon that is raising in Greece. It is a complex phenomenon whose prevention and treatment is imperative. Proper awareness, awareness of children, parents and teachers is required. The General Director of EPOS thanked Mr. Ilias Psinakis the Mayor of Marathonas for his help, Mrs Spanou Irene for the noble concession of the Museum's Congress Center, Mr. Pantelias Antonis for his significant support, the President of the Greek Wushu Kung Fu Federation Mr Stamoulis and Dr. Svourdakou for their valuable contribution to the realization of this workshop.

Then, Dr. Svourdakou spoke about the causes of violence and how it reproduces the pathogens of society itself. The use of violence between pupils or peer children and school bullying, which is not a random incident, but has the element of repetition. How these behaviors are a brake on learning and lead to antisocial behaviour.. Reference has been made to tackling this phenomenon, which can only be done with the proper education and awareness of children and parents,, under the guidance of teachers. She highlighted the importance of the compact family, the way out in sport and, most importantly, the suppression of indifference.

The workshop was concluded with the speech of the President of the Greek Wushu Kung Fu Federation,, Mr. Stamoulis, who referred to the attitude of the coach towards athletes and parents and how by practicing he can prevent situations of violence, fear and insecurity, in order to engage strong personalities.

The workshop was completed with questions and an open dialogue by the attendees, which were answered by the speakers, while the General Manager of EPOS, in view of the obvious public interest, committed to continue in the new educational period with more speeches on this burning issue, that concerns all, trainers and trainees.
