Ενα ιστορικό ορόσημο για το ΕΠΟΣ

On the weekend of June 15 and 16, 2024, the Greek Shaolin Cultural Center (EPOS) in Artemida, Greece, witnessed a significant event that marked a pivotal moment in the history of Shaolin Kung Fu in the country. The evaluation of participants in the seminars of the 1st Practice Cycle under the new Official Teaching System of the Shaolin Temple, Shaolin Kung Fu Duan [Chin.: Shàolín gōngfū duàn pǐn zhì 少林功夫], was conducted, heralding a new era of structured learning and assessment in this ancient martial art.

The event was graced by the presence of Teacher Shi Yanjia - Stavridou Alexandra [Chin.: shì yán jiā 释延佳], a revered and experienced instructor within the Shaolin tradition, who is also responsible for the curriculum at EPOS. Her guidance was instrumental in ensuring the evaluation process adhered to the high standards expected within the Shaolin community.

Overseeing the event were two prominent figures in the Shaolin community: Shi Yan Zhuo [Chin.: shì yán zhuō 释延卓], the founder of EPOS, and the EPOS Director General, Master Shi Yan Kung [Chin.: shì yán kōng 释延空]. Their supervision underscored the importance of the evaluation and highlighted the dedication of EPOS to preserving and advancing Shaolin teachings.

The Shaolin Kung Fu Duan rating system is a significant modernization of the traditional methods used to assess skills and progress within Shaolin Kung Fu. This system introduces structured levels and evaluations, providing students with clear objectives and milestones in their martial arts journey. Despite its contemporary framework, the system preserves the essence and integrity of the Shaolin teachings, ensuring that the rich heritage and philosophy of Shaolin Kung Fu are maintained.

The event not only celebrated individual achievements but also signified a broader advancement in the way Shaolin Kung Fu is taught and practiced in Greece. By adopting the Shaolin Kung Fu Duan rating system, EPOS is setting a precedent for martial arts education, blending tradition with modernity to create a comprehensive and progressive learning environment.

In conclusion, the evaluation held at EPOS in Artemida represents a landmark moment for Shaolin Kung Fu in Greece. It reflects the ongoing evolution of martial arts education and the commitment of EPOS to fostering excellence within the Shaolin community. As students continue to progress through the structured levels of the Shaolin Kung Fu Duan system, they will not only enhance their skills but also contribute to the enduring legacy of Shaolin Kung Fu.
