In order to honor the invitation of Master Antonios Pantelias of the Wu Yongchunquan Greek Academy, EPOS participated in the training seminar on the traditional style of the 7-Star Mantis [Chin.: qīxīng tángláng pài quán 七星螳螂派拳], introduced by Master Derek Frearson, with selected male and female Students and Masters, on Saturday 2 June 2018 in New Philadelphia.

At the seminar that was completed with great success, they were taught:

1. Basic exercises of the style [Chin: jībengōng shì 基本功 式], moves[Chin: Bù xíng 步 型], foot techniques [Chin: Tuǐ fǎ 腿 法], hand movement [Chin: shǒuxíng 手 形] equilibrium [Chin: Pínghéng 平衡].

2. The "Avoiding Force" form [Chin.: Duǒ Gāng Quán 躲剛拳] .

3. Self-defense techniques applied in the kinesiology of style [Chin.: Jīběn dòngzuò 基本 动作].

Master Derek Frearson, in his unique and cheerful way, gave the participants in the classroom three hours of teaching, one of Mantis most widespread forms. The seminar was really a unique teaching opportunity for the Shaolin family, since this style is directly tied to it. Said Master Katakalaios Dimitris, after the completion of the seminar.

Master Derek Frearson

Master Derek Frearson has been since 1990 intern student of Grandmaster Lee Kam Kam Wing in Hong Kong in the Seven Star Mantis style.
As for Seven Star Mantis Style, Master Derek Frearson is:
President and Leader of Lee Kam Wing Martial Arts Union in Great Britain.
Grandmaster Lee Kam Wing intern student, awarded the 9th Masters Degree by Grandmaster Lee Kam Wing.
Vice President of the International Seven Star Mantis Style Lee Kam Wing Martial Arts Association
Founder and President of the World of Traditional Seven Star Mantis Style Federation
He has been honored by the Hong Kong Global Chinese Martial Arts Federation, of which he is also a founding member outside of China.
He has been President of Hong Kong and China Shandong Mantis Association
He is a life-long member of Shaolin Boxers Association Deng Feng China and the International Chinese Physician (Rheumatic Research & Orthopaedic Problem Association) Hong Kong and China.
