On the morning of Sunday, March 30, 2025, the Indoor Gymnasium of Agioi Theodoroi “Krommyonio” was transformed into a vibrant stage of discipline, culture, and athletic excellence as the 12th Isthmia Martial Arts Festival unfolded. Hosted under the auspices of the Hellenic Martial Arts Federation (E.O.P.T.), the event brought together over 400 athletes from clubs across Greece, representing a diverse array of martial arts disciplines.

Organized by the Isthmia Beautification and Cultural Association, with the invaluable support of Teachers Georgios Dimitrios and Karsiotis Athanasios, the festival showcased the power of martial arts to unite, inspire, and elevate. Among the distinguished participants was the EPOS team, who answered the call to celebrate this annual tradition with passion and grace.

The event commenced with a moving speech by Sensei Georgiou, who expressed deep appreciation to all those who contributed to the event’s success. In a heartfelt gesture, he presented a commemorative cup to the teachers, referees, and the audience—recognizing their unwavering dedication and support. His words set a tone of gratitude and mutual respect that carried through the day’s festivities.

A highlight of the festival was the performance by the Hellenic Shaolin team, whose extraordinary demonstrations captivated the audience. Returning after their celebrated appearance at the previous year’s festival, the team delivered an awe-inspiring display of Shaolin martial arts, including the graceful yet powerful Shaolin Rou Quan and dynamic Kung Fu routines. Their performance was not only a showcase of technical mastery but a tribute to the ancient traditions they uphold.

Under the leadership of Mr. Dimitris Katakalaios, President of the Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization, and Mr. Stavridis Iordanis, Founder of EPOS, the team brought together practitioners from various cities including Pyrgos, Amaliada, Artemis, and Athens. Masters Kapatsoulias Panagiotis, Karoumbali Christina (Pyrgos), Stavrakos Marios (Amaliada), Stavridou Alexandra (Artemida), Banner Andrew (Athens), and Antoniou Efi (Athens), along with their students, painted a vivid picture of authentic Shaolin heritage thriving in modern Greece.

In acknowledgment of their outstanding contribution, the entire EPOS delegation received medals and commemorative diplomas, a testament to their commitment to the art and its values. Organizers also expressed their desire for future collaborations, paving the way for continued growth and shared success in the martial arts community.

Reflecting on the day’s events, Mr. Katakalaios emphasized the significance of initiatives that promote the positive development of martial arts in Greece. The enduring partnership between EPOS and the Isthmia Beautification and Cultural Association reflects a shared vision of fostering unity, discipline, and cultural enrichment through martial practice. He expressed sincere thanks for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful gathering.

As the curtains closed on this year's festival, the spirit of the event lingered—etched into the hearts of those who witnessed the powerful demonstrations and shared in the collective energy of camaraderie. More than just a showcase of athletic ability, the 12th Isthmia Martial Arts Festival stood as a beacon of mutual respect, resilience, and cultural pride.

With each passing year, the legacy of the festival grows, inspiring new generations of martial artists to pursue excellence, honor tradition, and build bridges across communities through the enduring art of martial arts.
