On the afternoon of July 17th, 2015 a solemn event dedicated to the presentation of a new bilingual edition in Greek and Chinese language of «Lankavatara Ratna Sutra: Sutra of the Appearance of the Good Doctrine in Lanka» which is compiled and edited by the 34th Generation Shaolin Master Shi Yan Zhuo, the General Director of the Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization [EPOS], took place at the Songshan Shaolin Temple.
The Greek master presented with much pride a signed copy of the new dharma book that will be published soon to the Abbot of the Shaolin temple, asking him to preface and approve its publication.
Ven. Abbot Shi Yong Xin, after having studied the book carefully, accepted with alacrity to write a Book Dedication which will be incorporated into the final version of the publication.
He congratulated the author for his new book, and he noted that such spiritual work is raising the status of teaching and offers real knowledge.
The heart of the book is a first-ever translation into Greek from the Chinese of the 4th Century master Guna Bhadra's [Chin.: qiúnà bátuóluó 求那跋陀羅 | Sansk.: guṇabhadra गुणभद्र- 394~468 B.Ε.] «Lankavatara Ratna Sutra: Sutra of the Appearance of the Good Doctrine in Lanka» [Chin.: léngjiā ā báduōluó bǎojīng 楞伽阿跋多羅寶經 | Skt.: लङ्काअवतररत्नसू Laṅkāvatāra Ratna Sūtra] 670 series of the Chinese Buddhist Canon, a masterpiece of the Mahayana buddhist’s spiritual literature, and an ideal text for inner practice.
