The trek journey of EPOS cultural mission was completed with the visit to the Grand Buddha of Lushan [chin .: Lǔshān dàfú 鲁山大佛] in Ping Ding Shan [chin .: Píngdǐng shān 平顶山]. The group started at 6am with first destination the Temple of Wind Cave, Feng Xue [chin .: fēng xué sì 风穴寺], for a last farewell visit to Venerable Master Shi Yong Hai. After some outstanding issues on behalf of the temple of the Wind were carried out, the General Director of EPOS, Master Shi Yan Zhuo, received the special permission from the General Directorate of Culture and Religious Affairs of the province, which was formally requested a week ago and the mission departed for Lushan. The weather was rainy but very pleasant for such a trip.
Approaching Lushan, after a three-hour trip, the head of the giant Amitava, with total height 153 meters, emerged in the greenery of the peaks. The construction was completed in 2008 and so far is the largest of its kind in the world.
The bus headed to the main base, passing through breathtaking scenery, that starts from the river, ascends to the temple of Source and continues a truly great way to reach the top. There, members of the mission took the elevator to the level of Amitava feet. With evident admiration, the mission members made a tour of the base where Master Yan Kong explained the stories of the performances that were carved in bronze sheath, photographing the landscape and the rich surroundings.
Then Master Yan Zhuo having special authorization, led the members of the mission in a Zuo Chan lesson [chin .: Zuòchán 坐禅]. The cool breeze and the magnetism of the landscape, made conditions ideal for emptying the mind and relaxing the body. A two-hour training in Shaolin Kung Fu followed and the day ended with practise in Ba Duan Jin [chin .: Shàolín Bāduànjǐn 少林八段锦] under the guidance of master Altanis Theodore and the supervision of Master Yan Zhuo.
