On Monday July 11, 2016, the EPOS team visited the White Horse Temple [chin .: báimǎ sì 白马 寺], in Luoyang. This visit is essential to the cultural itinerary of EPOS group in China, since it is the place where Greek Master Shi Yan Zhuo, began his spiritual search in 1993.
The visit began in the cemetery of the Temple, in which male and female students of EPOS, accompanying the Masters, paid the prescribed tribute in front of the pagoda of Venerable Shi Hai Fa [chin .: hǎi fǎ fǎshī 海法 法师], Master of Yan Zhuo.
Then the mission visited the monks' cells, to see the last remaining Master of Shi Hai Fa generation, the Elder Shi Wu Chan. The elder although at a very advanced age and almost confined to bed, recognized the Greek Master and greeted the male and female students of EPOS, welcoming them one by one separately and offered them his most warm greetings.
The visit continued at the premises of the Southern doctrine, where there are exact replicas of rooms and buildings, from the countries of Thailand, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. Right next door there is an exact replica of the Great Stupa of Sanchi in India. The project was started by the memorable Master Shi Hai Fa and was hopefully completed 14 years after his death.
The group headed to the courtyard and the rooms of the White Horse Temple, where Master Shi Yan Zhuo presented the relics of the temple with the main tombs of eminent monks Dharmaraksa [chin .: Zhúfǎlán 竺法兰] and Kasyapa Matanga [chin .: Jiā yè mó téng 迦叶 摩 腾].
Passing through lush gardens and lakes flooded by lotuses, the EPOS team completed its visit to the White Horse Temple, visiting the Qi Yun Pagoda [chin .: qí yún tǎ 齐云 塔] which was built in the 12th century during the Jin dynasty [chin .: Jīncháo 金朝 | 1115 - 1234] and is considered the oldest in China, and the female part of the temple.
